Look at Jack, he has been slacking, he will have 10,400 miles this year, last year he had 10,500, he's getting older. And that Doug his sidekick has slacked off even more, he's short by at least 200 miles than year.

Another slacker, George took off for 8 weeks, he claims to have pulled a groin muscle, at age 69 how could he possibly hurt himself. I think he still manage over 7000 miles.

This guy is fast! He teaches Design at RISD. I didin't quite find out, what kind of design! I said, "so you are an artist." and he said, "Nooooo! I would never consider himself an artist." Man, he's just modest, very cool, he fit right in the with the 10-3 crowd. (10-3 crowd = people that are usually in the park from 10am to 3pm.)

It's funny, I visited Providence for the first time this year and he's the third person I came across while riding my bike that has something to do with a pretty cool town called providence.

Escorting the Wheel Chair racers and Hand Cyclists through the NYC Marathon was a treat. It would have been a lot better if I didn't crash hiting a bump on a turn, I didn't even see it. I was more Embarassed then hurt, so I thought. This was a great experience and I would definitely do it again if Iget a chance. I must thank Marie for letting me know about it and Richard for putting me in the roster.

Another interesting Character in the New York City cycling scene. I'm sure some of you know him or know of him.

Here's a picture of Richard, 65 years and 10 months, on his solo, unsupported ride from Milan to Zurich fourteen months ago that went across seven major Swiss passes:

As a rider, I didn't start riding until I was forty years old. I'm a truly, really terrible uphiller. I can't get up driveways or out of potholes. Notwithstanding that, I ridden across all but, I think, four paved Alp passes over 2000 meters in all of Austria, Italy, France, and Switzerland. When anyone thinks to express awe or admiration at this, I insist they understand all it takes is: the will, the time, and a low enough gear.

Creator of the saying, "One Less Car," now in use by anti-car or, at least, pro-cycling advocates worldwide.

The person credited by former DoT Commissioner Lucius Riccio with being singlehandedly responsible for the curb cut onto the walkway leading to the GWB ramp.
